Joe P. Collins began his term
as Mayor of Rehobeth on November 3, 2008. Prior to being elected as Mayor on
October 7th, 2008, he also
served as the first elected Mayor of Rehobeth. Joe was chairman of the
Incorporation of Rehobeth and has served as Chief Inspector at the Rehobeth
voting precinct for over 30 years.
Joe graduated from Rehobeth
High School in 1969, attended Wallace Junior College and began working for the
telephone company in Dothan. In November of 2007, Joe
retired from the telephone company after 37 ½ years of service.
Joe’s grandparents, Arthur
& Earline Pippin were life time residents of Rehobeth along with his
parents, Joe & June Collins.He
married Elaine in November 1997 and is known as “Papa” to 9 step grandchildren
with another one making an entrance in 2009.
